Cloverbud Program

Kids are able to join 4-H as early as age 5. The Cloverbud Program is for youth members ages 5-8 where the emphasis is on participation, learning, and teamwork, not competition. They might learn horse colors and breeds,  participate in fun arts and crafts like making stick horses, or help with animal grooming and feeding (with supervision).

With Cloverbuds, safety comes first, and all of the activities are developmentally appropriate for this age group. This is reflected in the types of classes provided to our cloverbuds on our showbills. Cloverbud classes are opportunities for youth to learn and have positive interactions and feedback from their judges and therefore no placings are given, however all participants receive ribbons for their classes.

The Cloverbud Program also provides opportunities for older youth to mentor and help a younger 4-H’er to be successful.
